    Green Economy of South Africa

MISTRA Senior Researcher, Radhika Perrot, presented the green economy of South Africa at a Global Climate Policy Conference on the 7th and 8th of May at the Overseas Development Institute in London
With 1,5 years left to deliver a global agreement on action to tackle climate change in Paris in 2015 (COP 21), the organisers of the conference - Climate Strategies and Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) wanted to take a closer look at the issues stymieing negotiations and ways to break the deadlock and key issues preventing progress in international climate policy. The conference brought together researchers from Africa, Europe, Asia and Latin America, and analysts from academia and think-tanks, together with negotiators and other practitioners to identify new economic, social and political ideas and analysis to help move things forward. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru was present, as the next Conference of Parties (COP-20) is expected to be held in Peru in December 2014.
